Ralph Cohen, the executive producer on the 1984 Pepsi shoot, helped put out the flames. He grabbed the singed scraps of Jackson's hair and stuffed them into his jacket pockets.
After MJ's passing, Cohen passed the burnt hair follicles over to a celebrity hair collector by the name of John Reznikoff, and Reznikoff contacted the Chicago-based jewler, LifeGem.
LifeGem is currently sizing up Jackson's burnt locks and trying to figure out the number of diamonds they can create for a limited sale.
